What's New at Chicago's Uptown Recording Studio

Budget Demo Special!!!!

For a limited time Uptown Recording is offering a special package.  Bands with lower budgets who want quality demos to shop to venues etc, can record for a lower rate.  Here is the deal; 

DEMO SPECIAL

$450 6 Hours of Recording time to be used all at once.  We track your material and then you leave.  We mix it on our own and you get it back quickly mixed and mastered.  

PRE PRODUCTION SPECIAL

$350 6 Hours of recording time. We come to your rehearsal (providing it is not in a noisy facility with other bands). We track you playing as many songs live as you can play in the time allowed.  We come back to our facility and mix and master the project and you get it back quickly and polished enough for review and reworking songs.

Singer/Songwriter Andrew Belle's song "Static Waves" was featured on Grey's Anatomy on 3/24/2010.  This song was mixed by Chief Engineer Rob Ruccia.  Rob has been busy in sessions with the bands Overman, Jack in Space, Abel's Offering, and the all star group Clarkwise, which features producer Robert Irving III (Miles Davis, Bette Middler, Roy Orbison).  

Matt Denny has been busy tracking yet another album for Uptown regular, Thomas Pace.  

Dan Stock recently completed mixing the film Broken (an Open Flame Films production).  Recently screened at the Annoyance Theatre in Chicago, IL.  Dan has also been working on finishing projects for the band Sonic Pistol, as well as The Nuisance and Vocalist Samantha Beringer.  

Recently we've been getting more recording enthusiasts using Uptown to mix their home studio projects. No matter what the system you are using (pro tools, nuendo, sonar etc...) Amreeka, a film by Cherien Dabis, chronicles the adventures of Muna, a single mother who leaves the West Bank with Fadi, her teenage son, with dreams of an exciting future in the promised land of small town Illinois. The film has won awards at the Sundance and Cannes Film Fest!  During the scoring process with Engineer Rob Ruccia and Dan Stock at the controls, composer Kareem Roustom brought the many moods expressed in this film to life with music.  Click the title to read more and see and hear it at a theater near you.

Uptown Recording has now had several projects that have been mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound. A live show for the Trippin Billies (Dave Mathews Tribute), mixed in 5.1 by Rob Ruccia, and synchronized to a video that was shot and edited in Studio West by Dan Stock. the 2007 and 2008 annual AIDS benefit Dance for Life, featured a song Composed by Douglas Brush, recorded and mixed in 5.1 by Rob Ruccia. The song accompanied the Grand Finale which featured dancers from Hubbard St. Dance, Geoffry Ballet, River North Dancers and more... You have to hear it to believe how good things can sound in surround.
